i have a question on q's license fees/royalties.

there has been an avalanche of infra contracts signed recently (nt - 600 mil. mexico; lwin 2 x 300 mill u.s. and mexico, etc.).

does q receive payments from anyone as a result of those contracts? if so, what percentage?

also, those numbers from the u.n. are unreal. how much does q receive for every cdma phone sold now? all i ask is q's fair share of royalties/fees.

ok, thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. the rest is simply rant.

if the phone industry is smart, they'll copy the auto industry (which was copied by the pc industry) and, through the use of new killer apps., force upgrades on the consumer every year or so.

i dont think it will be long before the entire value chain coalesces (and obviously we are all betting and believe that q will be at the top of that chain).

the minute sellers are consolidating rapidly, and imho, they will drive the choice of the technolgy, not the IU (it's just happening too fast for a beauracratic entity to keep pace).

nt lu, and maybe one other will, imho, ultimately attach to the chain at the infra point; nok, and the big koreans will control handsets but there will other companies which will find niches (or even develop a killer app.) for "specialty devices" (like dick tracy stuff).

q rules from the top (until intc buys it).
