Yes, Nadine, Syria has assisted the United States against Al Qaeda Syria is trying to do just enough to muddy the waters and avert a strong US response to all that it is doing to aid Al Qaeda - and it's a lot. That's it and all about it. Nevertheless, I am grateful that some in Saudi Arabia continue to assist the US in going after Al Qaeda I think the blogger's description, "a futile farce" is closer to the mark. The Saudis are just now starting to realize their danger and to get serious about a response. But when Saudis get 'serious', they look for someone to pay off and they deny, deny, deny. I don't think those habits will help them much now.
