The history of Gate's deal with IBM and the advantage Gates took of his "captive" audience in the introduction of successive versions of OS's over the years, is over. Period. He played his hand, to his and his stockholders advantage, now he must change. The game is over. The new "game", what is it? The "open" game! The innovative application! The innovative system! In summary, what is needed now is to bring innovation that truly helps the consumer. (not just a "Microsoft Tax" whenever a new PC is sold).
