hi kanda,

trying to pick the perfect dylan starter album is a multi-layered task. <g3>

but i think you'll do great with 'biograph', from 1985. and here's an opportunity for you to see if you agree!

without a doubt, 1965's and 1966's 'highway 61 revisited' and 'blonde on blonde' are two of the greatest rock and roll albums ever released. bob's 1997 album 'time out of mind' received album of the year awards. i loved 'knocked out loaded' in '86, 'oh mercy' in '89 and 'infidels' from '83. go back into the seventies and you've got 'street legal', 'planet waves', 'blood on the tracks' and 'new morning'. i love them all and there's killer magic to be had on each.

check here for a compilation of his albums...

but i think you'll enjoy 'biograph'. plenty of re-released and previously unreleased versions. like this one called 'up to me'...

"and if we never meet again, baby, remember me,
how my lone guitar played sweet for you that
old-time melody.
and the harmonica around my neck, i blew it for you,
free,
no one else could play that tune,
you know it was up to me."

have fun, kanda, and let me know what you came up with, k?

:)

[edit: the track you listened to, 'forever young', is a biograph version]
