Bob- No, this issue predates MMX- cf. Carl Rohman's response #41. By the way, my impression is that Cyrix is still doing their own implementation of MMX, whereas AMD actually licensed Intel's design. Cyrix thereby avoided the Pentium's infamous context switch problem- we'll have to wait and see if they bought any imcompatibility issues. Cordially, Larry
