Tue 17 Mar 98 News Release
Mr R. Nemis reports
The company has been advised by its earn-in joint venture partner Baltic
Resources that a contract for diamond drilling has been executed and that a
diamond drill program will commence over the next several days covering the
company's extensive Hurdman Township zinc project (6,280 acres) north of
Timmins, Ontario in the Smooth Rock Falls area.
The proposed drill program will test the extensions of a sulphide enriched
zone where previous drilling intersected 4.6% zinc over 23 feet (7.0m);
2.4% zinc over 44 feet (13.4m) and 1.9% zinc over 127 feet (38.7m).
In addition Haddington Resources, the company's earn-in joint venture
partner in three of the company's properties southwest of Timmins, Ontario
in Ogden-Thorneloe townships, has reported that a program consisting of
linecutting, magnetometer and VLF EM16 surveys has been completed over the
three properties. From historical records of the Ogden north property, a
1978 induced polarization anomaly was identified and three zones of gold
mineralization had been intersected in one wildcat diamond hole completed
in 1968, on the flank of the IP anomaly which was established ten years
later. This intersection indicates the untested gold exploration potential
of the area.
The company has recently added to its extensive land holdings in the
Timmins, Ontario area by acquiring a 100% interest, subject to a 1% nsr in
four claims comprised of 40 units (1,600 acres) in Denton Township,
southwest of Timmins, Ontario. This claim group was acquired due to
favourable geology and untested targets in this active area of the Timmins
camp.
