Grim news for the ecology of the South Atlantic excited investors. Reports of oil-soiled penguins being washed up in the Falkland Islands made for strong business in Desire
Petroleum, which has large stakes in two wells. But in the dull conditions for AIM stocks, its shares could only manage 2 1/2 p better to 180p.
Westmount Energy, which also has interests in the Falklands, was 1p better at 96p.
