AMTC helped create the standard for the rail industry and it was their technology which is used in almost all rail cars in North America. The technolgy for tolls has not been univerally adopted for all of the States even though it has been widely used in TX KA OK and now in FL. Three years ago they lost the BIGIE , the contract for the TRI- STATE area of NY, NJ, PA to a joint venture between AT&T and another Co despite the fact that AMTC had far better technology. What that tell you about the government. Why hasn't AMTC gotten more of the toll business nationwide? Part of it is the new emerging competion, part of it the lack of hussle on the part of management, and luck or the lack thereof. Nevertheless, the company is cheap by most standards. Wheather or not new management can turn it around and exploit its technology and build a business is anyone's guess.
