Before the invasion, which areas of Iraq were not under Saddam's control?

re:"I specifically said areas not under Saddam's control."

You claim and complain about an invasion that killed 10,000 Iraqi civilians? This is a regime (Saddam's)that is responsible for the deaths of close to 3 million people. What about UN Sanctions that killed a million and a half? Saddam was using sanctions to starve the Marsh Arabs out of existance.

re:"The invasion has killed up to 10,000 Iraqi civilians unnecessarily".

Please show me a link stating that the French would have voted for an invasion (but that they wanted 3 more months). IMO, if the French had a problem with the time-frame, it would have been because, the French wanted to delay the U.S. attack, till summer - knowing that a summer attack in 110+ degree heat (in a chem suit) would be nearly suicidal.
