<<What happens to smartflex and the HDD industry if industry shifts to NW pcs with no harddrive or when the DRAM industry starts producing 1 gig-4 gig DRAMS ? Apples anyone? Very long on SFLX.>>

Good points Rich. Investing in technology companies is like walking in sand, the ground is always shifting. The trick is to find the areas stable enough to walk across.

I like companies like SFLX because they are not tied so closely to one technology that if it becomes obsolete the company sinks. If HDD's are no longer used, or sound cards for that matter when you're talking about CREAF, SFLX can in theory assemble the replacement devices, or medical devices, or any of the thousands of devices today that incorporate electronics. Sure SFLX will be hurt in the short run if a major customer's product becomes obsolete, but SFLX will survive.

Of course, this theory has not always served me well. I did not buy Intel a few years ago when it was at a fraction of today's price because I figured someone will or could bring out a new generation chip to make Intel products obsolete, or would develop enough bandwidth to make the home computer and all the Intel chips in it a thing of the past as the computing power could be done by a centralized machine than transmitted via fiber optics to the home. Regardless of the fact that I missed thousands by not buying Intel, I still am not comfortable with the company for the reasons stated - although based on my financial screens the company was and is a "buy".

In what may be a twisted logic, I feel more comforable owning SFLX than Intel.

Best - Joe

P.S. - it was a good day for ECM companies yesterday, it seems for almost everyone but SFLX. Maybe today's our day.
