Sorry cant leap to the same conclusions....I've been reading the Korean Herald for the last nine months and I definitely wouldnt rely on them for accurate data.

A major attraction of the IMT-2000 is its faster speed. In early stages the IMT-2000 will support 384Kbps, as opposed to 144Kbps provided by IS-95C which will evolve from the current IS-95B, the difference in transmission speed will grow larger in later stages. For example, it is estimated that by 2005, IMT-2000 will provide 1Mbps.

Do you believe the above statement? Only 1Mbps by 2005?

I think that the huge press that SK Telecom gave the W-CDMA call with NTT Docomo was much more significant than the two articles that you just posted.

The real question is if Korea will mandate a single standard or if they will simply mandate "IMT-2000" and allow the individual operators to decide. Still havent figured that one out....
