Support For 64 Remote PPP Connects Coming Monday

Midnight Networks may have a solution. The Waltham, Mass.,
company on Monday will introduce Avalanche/RA, a testing tool
that supports up to 64 simultaneous Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP)
connections into a remote access device or service provider to
simulate a wide variety of traffic conditions.

"Purchasing, configuring and maintaining PCs for testing is an
enormous task," said Normand Goyette, a beta tester of the
Avalanche/RA and lead integration test engineer at 3Com. Goyette
noted that with the old multiple PC approach to testing remote
access equipment there is no way to control all of the sessions
from a single console or interface. The Avalanche/RA avoids these
problems. It allows a manager to script each of the 64 connections
from a single control panel and vary the scripts from test-to-test.
