In case anyone missed the after hours news on NOVL earnings warning.
Novell blames miss on anemic sales.
cbs.marketwatch.com

General Comments:
1. Earnings short by 8 cents even after including a $35million cut from Caldera's settlement(extortion) from MSFT.
2. Novell claims that Microsoft's Windows 2000 introduction and growing interest in Linux hurt operating system sales. Would be interesting to know if Windows or Linux took the bigger bite.
3. Wonder what Orin Hatch is thinking? Protecting homegrown NOVL from the evil empire of Microsoft is one thing under the guise of opening up competition, but damn, Linux appears from nowhere and NOVL hasn't benefited at all. How'd that happen? Could it be that NOVL's product actually are inferior?
4. And where is that Toyboy? Wasn't NOVL supposed to stage a victorious comeback and rule the world?
