Reality, liberals and the fog. My last explanation was obtuse and esoteric. Sorry, I didn't mean to do that. Here is a more direct answer.

Say you put on blue or red sunglasses. The world will look blue of red. Now everyone has different eyes. Some are color blind so they do not see the colors others see. some are near sighted or far sighted, so they see a different world as well. And how the brain interprets what it sees also determines ones reality. Different brains give different pictures.

Everyone's brain is wired differently. For extreme examples think of autism or Down's syndrom. And everyone has different experiences and differnt knowledge which deermines their reality and how they see things.

Science calls this "knowedge directed perception". A farmer sees farm land much differntly then a city boy. A farmer can tell how much fertilizer the land needs, how to best irrigate it and what crops will grow on it. A city boy will not see any of that. The city boy will be in a fog if he tries to farm it. He will not know what to do and he will not know what he is looking at.

That is what liberals are thinking when they make decisions. What are the variables we need to take into account.

The uniqueness of every person's life experineces and genetic make up have to be taken into account when society makes decisions.
