Daw Technologies, Inc. Expands Into Air Entrance Market
SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Feb. 8, 1999--DAW TECHNOLOGIES, INC. (NASDAQ:DAWK), a Salt Lake City based manufacturer, has announced its expansion into the air entrance market. Many of the world's largest retailers are utilizing the "doorless" entry concept that eliminates the awkward and potentially dangerous entry systems such as automatic, sliding, or revolving doors. Retailers are increasingly concerned about safe and environmentally efficient access, entry and egress in the new "superstores" which are now being constructed. The "doorless" entry is designed to allow high traffic flow while maintaining tight environmental control.

The air entrance is a recirculating air handling system that uses an overhead plenum to deliver high velocity, laminar air flow across the open doorway. Heating and filtration systems are also provided to control the environment inside and to keep debris out of the air stream. The system generates a wall of moving air which prevents the outside environment from mixing with the internal environment, keeping the entry warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

"The air entrance system utilizes virtually the same technology used in our core clean room business and is a natural fit for us," said Ronald W. Daw, Chairman and CEO. "We are working with several national chains that have significant interest in our new product line. Our marketing efforts will target large retailers who have the need for a safe, efficient, and trouble free means to get their customers in and out of their stores."

"I believe this will become the entry system of the future, and compliments what we are already doing. I am very excited about its potential and expect this to become a significant segment of our business. This fits well into Daw's long term diversification plans," said Michael Shea, Senior Vice President of Manufacturing & Products.

Daw Technologies, Inc. provides ultra clean manufacturing environments for customers throughout the world and specializes in the design, engineering, manufacturing and installation of cleanrooms meeting stringent semiconductor manufacturing requirements, eliminating particles up to 1,000 times smaller than the diameter of a human hair. The Company also produces a new line of semi tractor sleeper shells.

The information discussed in the previous paragraphs contains forward looking statements that are subject to risks and uncertainties that could result in actual results differing materially from those projected. These risks and uncertainties could include, but are not limited to, the climate of the semiconductor industry, the timing of significant customer orders, product pricing pressures and challenges from competitors.
