My home is North of Rochester NY in Ont. This winter is shaping up to be close to a winter of the 50's or early 60's .

We have had ice on the ponds but it will melt . We need to have ice you can skate on by the time school is out for Christmas . That would be around the 15 th of Dec .

It does feel like we are ahead of that schedule . Quite a change from the 90's when the ice didn't form until into Jan or Feb .

Our weather has been much warmer than the plains this fall as we benefited from the warmth pushed out of the south and up the Atlantic coast . That though will end as the polar air mass puts on some weight and starts flexing its new found strength .
