Corporate executives can’t fly private jets…but Pelosi and Reid can?

In yet another “stunning” example of blatant hypocrisy which the media will not call them on, members of the House and Senate have been blasting the auto execs for flying on private jets. Apparently, it’s a huge deal to come to Washington D.C. to ask for bailout money for the industry if you do it on a corporate jet. How dare they fly on private jets when their companies are so in the red, the Democrats and their lackeys in the press demand! Never mind that saving a few thousand dollars on a private jet flight has NOTHING to do with the BILLIONS of dollars being talked about. Okay, this time they drove to D.C. right? Problem solved, right? Wait, you mean if they don’t fly on private jets it actually makes NO DIFFERENCE in solving the problem? Then why the big stink?

This is an especially important question given that the people making the stink fly on their own jets all the time, and do it on taxpayer money. At least the executives are flying on privately-earned money.

Nancy Pelosi flies on her very own MILITARY transport back and forth to San Francisco. Granted, the job came with a jet, but she demanded a bigger one:

And let us not forget that other paragon of frugality, Harry Reid:

For that matter, what about the entirely made up, totally-without-basis-in-reality “Office of the President Elect” flying around in a chartered airliner?

Please understand…..I could care less what anyone flies. On the other hand, if you’re going to yell at the heads of massive companies for flying their privately-funded corporate aircraft, you had better not be arriving from the airport having flown in on one that I paid for!

And about that whole “well they’re coming to ask for money when their companies are going broke” question…..are these Democrats not flying on taxpayer money while the country is going broke? Are they not demanding an ever-increasing share of our incomes because of that? Isn’t that at LEAST the same thing, if not worse?!

When Pelosi, Reid, and all the other filthy rich “for the little guy” liberals start flying coach with the rest of us, maybe I’ll be interested in listening to them rant about some corporate executive flying around on the company-owned jet. Until then, they need to just shut the heck up.
