DVD EXPRESS Sells Pace-setting 30,000-plus Units of ``Titanic' DVD by First Day of Release

DVD EXPRESS (www.dvdexpress.com), the Internet's leading video retailer and authority on digital versatile discs (DVD), announced that it has pre-sold over 30,000 units of Paramount's "Titanic" DVD, which hits retail shelves Tuesday.

The company also announced that it has moved its fulfillment operation from its 8,000 square foot Hollywood location to a nearby 66,000 square foot warehouse.

To make transition as smooth as possible, every employee, from chief executive officer and founder Michael Dubelko, on down, was on the assembly line over the weekend, to ensure the timely shipment of orders and maintain DVD EXPRESS' top-rated track record for customer service and quick product turnaround.

"We're pleased to be outgunning brick and mortar retailers and all other online video retailers on the big DVD releases," said Dubelko. "Accordingly, we're growing our space to keep up with the incredible demand from the new consumers these titles draw as well as with the intense loyalty the format has inspired with current users."

DVD EXPRESS ran two promotions in conjunction with "Titanic's" DVD release. The company offered 50 percent off on the "Titanic" DVD and gave away coupons for a free DiGiorno "Rising Crust" Pizza with purchase.

DVD EXPRESS also gave the DVD away for free when customers purchased a special coupon book for $24.99. The coupon book included discounts from partners such as AOL, AMC Theaters, Regal Cinemas, Lowes Cineplex, National Amusement, FTD.com, Mrs. Fields cookies and Hertz Rent-a-Car. In addition, the coupon book featured monthly discounts at DVD EXPRESS.

Still, the film's incredible popularity cannot be denied.

"'Titanic' has all the elements DVD and home theater lovers covet like great sound and special effects, but it also brings the cache of its stars and numerous awards," said Eric Olson, associate editor of DVD.COM.

"This title is going to convert a lot more people to the DVD format as it emerges as the most sought after consumer electronic item this holiday season."

"Titanic," starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet and directed by James Cameron, is the highest-grossing film of all time and was the winner of 11 Academy Awards in 1997, including Best Picture. The DVD is now available at DVD EXPRESS for $14.99.
