Gibson's CEO speaks out:

Gibson’s CEO on the Bureacratic Raid of His Business

The Obama Fail Blog has the audio of the interview (ht: Michelle Malkin via Twitter). Here’s the key section from OFB’s transcription:

The government’s position is…that is the law of the land in Madagascar and they are saying that is the law of the land in India. That is not the case. The fact is, we have affidavits from numerous government officials – and this court case, specifically now, is forMadagascar wood. We have affidavits from virtually every govt official saying that it is legal, that their definition of what is legal is a fingerboard blank and its been exported within every certification that is necessary. So they have the arrogance to interpret Madagascar law differently than the people in Madagascar.

As the CEO goes on to mention, they’ve actually been hiring over the last two years despite the downturn. Why in the world would the administration choose to target an iconic American employer at this moment in time, just a few days before Obama’s big jobs speech? The optics, as they say, are terrible.
