Sales almost tripled in California’s Riverside-San Bernardino, High Desert and Monterey County regions, where foreclosures account for most transactions, the group said. Sales more than doubled in Ventura County and Sacramento and almost doubled in North Santa Barbara County and San Diego, the association said.

The group’s unsold inventory index for single-family homes fell to 6.9 months in November from 14.3 months a year earlier. The measure shows the number of months needed to deplete the supply of homes on the market at the current sales rate.

The median number of days it took to sell a California home was 44.3 days last month, down from 61.6 days a year earlier, the association said.
