Whenever a gov't leader has members of his or her own party distancing themselves, it's the kiss of political death. The party members stick together like crazy glue unless they smell some negative coat tails.

They follow the fearless leader until their own butt is in jeopardy...........then they start to jump ship to save their own political career.

The power of the Presidency can bring about alot of changes to help re-elect himself. I just hope he isn't successful.
