Five leading video production board and system manufacturers have selected C-Cube Microsystems' DVxpress architecture to power a new category of all-digital, standards-based video editing solutions.
Avid Technology, Matrox Electronic Systems, Pinnacle Systems, FAST Multimedia and Accom will leverage C-Cube's innovation in advanced editing capabilities including FAME (Frame Accurate MPEG Editing), DV to MPEG transcoding, co-existence of DV and MPEG in a single system, dual stream decoding of MPEG and/or DV video streams as well as the application of real-time special effects.
Targeting broadcasters, post-production facilities, corporate video producers, multimedia content creators and project studios, C-Cube's system offers gain higher speed and image quality at lower overall cost.

ATM over Denmark
ECI Telecom has signed a contract with the Danish Broadcasting Corporation (DR) to supply Hi-TV for a national TV-contribution over ATM network. The network will be used primarily for news and sports contribution. ECI Telecom's Hi-TV systems, located in seven regional studios throughout Denmark and in the main broadcast centre in Copenhagen, will provide MPEG-2 encoding and decoding together with ATM adaptation and network termination. The centrally-managed Hi-TV systems will enable DR to compress and transport studio quality TV over an ATM network in realtime.
