"47% of the 1.8 billion application suites shipped in 1996 were Windows 3.x versions", Dataquest

Excerpt:

Lotus and other vendors are responding to a demand among corporate users who have put off migration to 32-bit systems such as Windows 95 and Windows NT. According to market research firm Dataquest Inc. in San Jose, Calif., 47% of the 1.8 billion application suites shipped in 1996 were Windows 3.x versions. "There's an installed base that hasn't been taken care of" says Chris Le Tocq a software analyst at Dataquest. Lotus is trying to show its customers they can take advantage of advanced features without having to go through an upgrade process, says Le Tocq.

This appears to be positive news for Corel's existing 16-bit suite, Corel Office Professional.
