Perot Systems and Medic Computer Systems Partner to Provide Integrated Physician Practice Management Software and Services; Agreement Allows Physician Practices to Gain Industry Leading Software and Support on a Timeshare Basis
DALLAS, May 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Perot Systems Corporation (NYSE: PER) and Medic Computer Systems, Inc. announced an agreement in which they will work together to supply practice management software and IT support services using a timeshare approach, which will create value-added technology services for physician organizations.
Medic and Perot Systems will provide a coordinated approach to information services by delivering Medic applications and information technology services in a timeshared arrangement that offers specified service levels and pricing based on provider business metrics. This type of per unit-based arrangement is advantageous for physicians because it provides significant value-added capabilities and efficiencies by aligning IT expenses with revenues and other operating expenses.
Through existing contracts with physician organizations, Perot Systems has been working with Medic since 1995 to design, implement, operate, and support solutions for outsourcing the Medic suite of applications.
