An interesting article in Barron's re. Novell's new NDS product, lists Nortel, Lucent, Cisco, and Oracle as partners in a battle with MSFT's Windows 2000 for a standard Internet directory service tool. CEO, Schmidt is one of the fathers of Java. Seems like WIND will be on board here too.

The article also mentions Novell's FastCache which they want to develop with Compaq. Sales of cache devices are projected to grow 20x in the next 3 years. Are these the same as flash memory chips?
