Is anyone watching the damage control the spin doctors are putting on Squawk Box regarding GE's earnings? Appearantly First Call saiz they missed estimates by 1 cent. Jump'n Joe Kernan and Mark "Bobby" haines are sitting there argueing that one should compare apples to apples (fully dilluted vs. fully dilluted, not primary EPS.) They've been at it for 20 minutes now. Talking about how GE had 27 billion in rev., last quarter and that the 1 penny only represents $35MM in sales and on and on and on. Gee, wish they were that fair to all companies. Fair enough to take 20 minutes and go out of their way to explain all the micro issues behined a company missing a penny. IOM had a blowout 1Q '97 and haines at the time said " yeah, but backorder is down significantly." These guy's make me sick! Zead
