There are people -- I know some -- whose thought
process seems to consist of trying to figure out how the problem presented can be
answered by adopting a stance or uttering a cliche that, at the moment they utter it,
makes them feel... Correct. (Politically.)

The campuses are full of them. I had read about this on campus, but not until I started visiting them with my kids three years ago and studying their literature, course catalogs, faculty web pages, etc. did I have any idea how bad it had really become.
