Insider selling is not necessarily a bad sign. Insiders are treated very differently by the SEC than all the rest of us. I have lots of friends who hold HUGE stock positions in their companies. They are envious of me and my ability to buy or sell anytime I want when I see an opportunity. Insiders are VERY restricted as to when they can sell. The insiders I know can ONLY sell during the middle month of each quarter. The can NOT sell in the 30 days before the end of a quarter or the 30 days following the close of the quarter. The explanation I have heard for this is that insiders have inside information on how the quarter is going. They would know in the last 30 days pretty much how the quarter was going to end up. It would be illegal to trade on this info. Likewise they can not sell in the first 25-30 days of the quarter because the results of the previous quarter are about to be announced, usually in the 3rd week of the new quarter. So that leaves these insiders with only four opportunities (30 day windows) per year to sell stock. Imagine if YOU were holding stock that was going up, up , up, and could only sit and watch. Or worse, if it goes down, down, down, and can not sell to protect your gains. It is very difficult emotionally for these guys. That said, I would change places with them anyday :>)

On the subject of NC/OS, I think WIND is missing the boat. NC/OS from Oracle/NCI is now based on NET/bsd which is a widely available UNIX O/S. WIND was not able to complete the port in time for the V1.0 release of NC/OS. They didn't really believe in the opportunity, and/or they had other more intersting opportunities to deal with in the near term. There are people in WIND who now believe that the NC market is a big opportunity but they will have to compete with other opportunities for engineering resources. Once NCI starts down the road with NET/bsd it may be difficult to get them to switch to a different O/S.

I think there are lots of other big markets for WIND and many other good reasons to own WIND stock. I am watching for an entry point in the low $40's.
