Rudedog--Here is one area where I disagree with the judge. I think the "relevant market" should have been operating systems for all PC's, and I don't mean just IBM compatible. I would have included Macs as well, and OS/2 if that is still around. But it is still a monopoly. At some point before 1990 or so, Apple diminished in importance and OS/2 never took off and Windows/DOS ruled the PC operating system world. Apple doesn't have a monopoly by any definition that makes sense to me As for Cisco, I don't know the market that well. I think Lucent has a big presence in a lot of their markets and 3Com, Nortel/Bay Networks and Cabletron do or did in others. Maybe others know this better than me.
