I also did not post on the Bre-X thread at all, or any other Indonesian landholder's thread.

This brings up a point. It would appear that the chief obstacle to Canadian miners the world over is the natural and ignorant government greed of the filthy little nations that harbour natural resources. Even in the good ones such as ~Ghana, ~South Africa and ~Peru, the tax system does not reflect the actual needs of the government.

The United Fruit Company, Amoco and the CIA have been there before us and given us all a bad name. What a bunch of hypocrites the Americans are! They preach democracy with pious rectitude and brag about human rights. They profited enormously from slavery and have consistently exported tyranny for dollars under the guise of preventing the communism of independent states. What a crock.

We will fail just like all the other tyrranies of the world; Rome, Egypt, the Holy Roman Empire, Napoleon and the Soviets. Our vaunted civilization will crumble and history, I guarantee, will not be kind. I give us perhaps 100 years at the outside. By that time our cities will be enclaves poverty, revolt and crime, populated by those who have no sympathy or commonality for who they see in power. "We" will have become impossible to govern or control.

I would not invest in India, Southeast Asia, China and 80% of the countries in Central america or South America for all the tea in Ceylon. Unless you have a whopper that is well worth sharing out 50% for nothing and have budgeted 10 million in bribes, it ain't worth the heartache.
