What I also learned by looking at spam instead of just pretending a computer can magically make it disappear is that spammers use affiliate programs. I get dozens of spam messages from all kinds of forged headers but they all link to the same domains to get the images and to use for users to click on to visit the page for more info about the product. So now, by blocking the domains spammers use intelligently (sometimes you just want to block a subdirectory of domain which is something a computer can’t figure out on its own) you’ve just blocked dozens or even thousands of spammers who were advertising that domain. Current anti-spam lists would try to block those thousands of spammers individually which is just absurd. Forget the spammer, block the company. And since the header is irrelevant I don’t have to worry about destroying anyone’s right to privacy. I don’t care who the spam came from. It’s irrelevant information. All I care is that they’re advertising company X and I don’t want spam from company X. And since only spammers use these domains and they have no legitimate uses there is no way a legitimate e-mail will be filtered out. All words have many uses. www.topofferz.net has exactly one use.

There are ways to automate the process of gathering links from e-mails. I’ve devised some preliminary ways for my own use that work well. Those will be posted for anyone’s use and enhancement.
