Paul, I am unaware that GemPlus has any directly competing products with SNDK. I am interested in the Smart Card business, but have not had time to really investigate many companies yet. It seems to be a very diverse business with many angles. I did read through some Atmel press releases and they seem to boast about their ability to combine system-on-chip technology with their own advances in flash memory. Do you think that commpanies such as LSI Logic, Atmel, Intel, Cadence (?) and others may factor in this market as the cards become not just "smart", but "very intelligent" and "ingenious"? I wonder whether smaller companies like SNDK, FLSHF and SSTI may become essential for other semiconductor manufacturers looking to provide turnkey solutions for the smart card demands upcoming?
