Another analyst not looking at all of the numbers. There have been several items on this thread saying this is wrong. Not everyone can be the number one DRAM provider in the world. Samsung was the biggest last year and what has made them lose this position? Buy TI -- they are just now making parts from those fabs; and remember how much money TI made from those facilities. The Danger for Micron expanding into a work force that it has not controlled from the beginning is the will not have the "Micron way" of producing: lots of hours and giving up things like family, etc.

The story is told about the senior Micron management team who wen to Italy to see who they could lay off and how they could transform the employees there into " Micronites." The Italian Government laughed and told them there would be no lay offs. I cannot imagine an Italian, working in Italy, would go for 1/2 hour lunches, no breaks and working on SUNDAY. Having relatives there I can imagine the number of fists into the arm raising the Italian welcome sign. -- Does make one laugh though
