James, I agree with what you say. To me, keeping His commandments grows out of the seed bed of love prepared by The Holy Spirit and the Devine nature He gave us when we were born again.
2 Pet 1:4 " For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, in order that by them you might become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust."
Gal 6:15 " For neither is circumcision anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation.
Gal 6:16 And those who will walk by this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the Israel of God."
2 Cor 5:17 " So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; see, everything has become new!"
For me to be part of the body of Christ means for me to share His nature. He is the head, we are the body. I see no way for the head to have a different nature than the body, or vice versa.
