Lola,
The other day while playing JDX I called RBC Action Direct and put in a market order sell for 4K at .80......I should say there was 3K at .80 and 5K at .79.I got a fill on the 3K at .80 in 1 and a half minutes but the remaining 1K tokk 1 hour and 27 minutes. The excuse the RBC gave (which I feel is crap)was that the trader on the floor was trying to get me a better price....... This is totally unacceptable.
I have been keeping track with RBC Net Action and as a rule it takes them 6 minutes ad 5 sec on average to change an order from pending to open and have it show on the depth on real time.In a fast moving stock by the time they read it back and dilly dally around the price may have moved 10-15 cents above your limit order buy. Some would say go market order but by the time it gets to the floor you could be buying at the top of a short run so I don't go there.I am presently reducing and downloading RBC positions and am consolidating to cash and moving to Greenline only because of the professional manner in which the local office operates.
