High Canadian dollar. With all due respect my friend, I think you are wrong here. A strong dollar allows one to buy other peoples companies, goods and services. One of the reasons the DOW is so high is the Europeans with their strong euro are investing like crazy in the US.

If Canada were exporting manufactured goods, you might have a case, but Canada is exporting commodities and that is different. Canada wil be fine with a strong dollar as they have to import manufacutred goods like cars and they will be cheaper e.g. cars.

I saw how New Zealand struggles with importing manufactured goods with a weak dollar.
