But I do have an interest in weapon systems and the technologies involved.

I'm sure we all do.

Lobbing single rockets, and most of them have been some variant of the Qassam, is a pretty pointless exercise from a military point of view. It is the equivalent of hurling rocks but with more range.

Qassams can carry up to 10-20kg of high explosive for a range of 10km. These are not rocks.

But it would be a serious mistake to assume that all Hamas has to work with are Qassams.

You like to pretend that Israel was just minding their own business while the Palestinians were waging a terror campaign against them. That isn't the truth. I will grant you that the Palestinians did not respond in the best possible manner, but the Israelis weren't exactly being great guys either.

The Israelis are doing what they have to do to protect themselves. I just cannot find fault with that. They are sitting on the most difficult to defend piece of land, probably in the world, surrounded by the most hate-filled enemies any nation has had in the history of Earth.

Until Israel's enemies acknowledge their right to exist, Israel has no choice but to defend itself in the strongest possible ways. When a rocket is fired into their territory, it must be met with a harsh response.

If you know anything about the military as you claim you should know this.
