It's a little scary coming out of lurk mode into this thread, but I'll give it a shot.
Just wanted to mention something. I called my broker (Dean Witter) for my GIFS certificates about 3 weeks ago, and was told they'd get them to me, no problem. As I haven't received them yet, and given the situation with the transfer agent, I called my broker again today to ask what the status was. I was told that it's up to the transfer agent at this point, and that my brokerage account no longer has those shares listed. Which means: I am completely out of control of those assets right now. Although I am long on GIFS, it still makes me a little uncomfortable being in this situation. Fortunately I wasn't swayed by the noise on this thread yesterday (by the way, I'm wondering if any others of you had previously heard about Zayed's background, because I know that I've heard it, and I'm pretty sure it was right here on this thread many months ago, so I'm surprised that many of you were surprised about it), because if I had wanted to sell, I was completely unable to.
I just wanted to bring this up as I haven't heard anyone address this issue yet on this thread, and am wondering what you all think, especially since many of you may be in the same position.
