Exactly. and why wouldn't they be able to?

That article is semi ridiculous imo. It's practically a given that evryone who has an iPod already has a cell phone...so what... How many people are willing to scrap both, and all the associated peripherals that they've already bought for thier iPod, to buy an Nokia music cellphone if it doesn't fit into existing iPod peripherals? Not many imo.

The iPod aftermarket products represent a huge investment base on the existing iPod design. I can't believe anyone would think that all those dollars spent for iPod docks, auto transponders, bose players etc. are going to be shelved just for a new cellphone that stores music.

Apple will probably steal mkt share from the Nokia's of the world if/when it releases an iPod design cell phone, rather than lose mkt share to them.
