I understand that there is now cause for some plank walking and keel hauling. By not handing over the requested evidence, they've handed over power to the AG and FBI director to fire them for cause.

Seamus Bruner, Government Accountability Insititute's Director of Research, says the FBI reportedly seized “vaults of tapes” from Jeffrey Epstein during their first investigation in the early 2000s. “None of us want to see what’s on those tapes, but what happened to those tapes? Who has those tapes? Is our intelligence community keeping those because they want to maintain the leverage that having powerful people on tape doing horrible things provides? There’s a lot we need to know,” he says.
