Its easy to think all graveyards rather silly & a waste of space, this one in Israel is extraordinary in its grey somber presumption based on childish religious belief. Christians are buried there as well, also wanting a front row seat to this great fantasy non event. It seems innoffensive except when you get into extreme orthodox clinging to such nonsense on both sides, then we have the same apocalyptic extremists that live & breath this silliness today that plagued the world centuries ago.
Want to remember someone?
Carve a statue or write a poem, make up a song, take a picture & frame it, make a donation to some charity in their name, light a few candles, have a wake & invite guests to remember them with you, but give the minerals back to the earth for recycling & plant orchards instead of grey graveyards wasting space.
Being the materialist we know you are, am sure you agree. |
