Thursday September 8, 8:16 pm ET SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- ScanSoft Inc. and Nuance Communications Inc. said after Thursday's closing bell that the Department of Justice has ended the antitrust waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act for the companies' proposed merger. The transaction is scheduled to close on Sept. 15, subject to satisfaction of closing conditions. My comments: There is still time to buy NUAN at a discount. With today's closing prices of 4.89 for SSFT and 5.63 for NUAN, NUAN is selling at a 33 cent discount.(4.89 x .77 = 3.76 + 2.20 = $5.96).
