Had to chuckle at your metaphor, as I'm kneading some baguette dough in my Cobalt-Blue KitchenAid, as I read this thread on my PowerMac 8500, after upgrading to OS 8 this afternoon and checking to make sure my Preview release of the BeOS still does everything it's supposed to. Life's too short to buy shoddy disposable appliances because you can save a buck on the front end. Call me elitist, but an appreciation of the finer things enhances a life spent managing other people's bits and bytes. As William Morris wrote: Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful. Just a human little Sunday moment before we return to betting dollars on perceptions, hype and whimsy.
