IDT has mentioned a killer graphics chip they are supposed to introduce but I have no details on it. The graphics chip market is already highly competitive. Having said that, few of the competitors are nearly as well run, have a diversified product and revenue base, or are as competitive in product development or manufacture, or have as many synergies with other newly developed and growing product areas as IDTI. In fact, I can't think of another competitor in a similar position unless you consider that NSM may come out with something. The traditional graphics chip guys are getting squeezed on margins and will get drastically squeezed further next year when MPUs from AMD, IDT, & Cyrix start incorporating 3-D graphics capability. An external graphics chip or graphics +logic, DVD or some other functions could fit strategically with the C6 and MIPS product families.
