re current war, i guess it will wrap up before Inauguration. In a sense American politics had more to do with the timing than israeli and its not because obama is a wimp either. I think israel is positioning itself better for an obama led peace agreement by changing the facts on the ground to minimilize hamas and its ability to attack israel and resupply. I think they needed to do this to give peace a chance to succeed. You could never have a viable peace with rejectionist hamas running things in gaza without limitations. If you dont believe me ask abbas. He might agree with me.
