The thing that strikes me and that I'd like to address is that if the Curan teaches brotherhood and all the other human qualities that are talked about these days in the West, how come so many Arab or Muslim people feel so much hatred for the "infidels"?

1. Globalization has put our success in their faces. They can't explain it in their worldview since they are the true believers.

2. It is very handy for dictatorships (i.e. all the Arab states) to focus the people's anger on external enemies. America and Israel do very nicely. If it weren't for these enemies, the people might turn their anger on their own despots, or have to face the question of why they don't have a working civil society. Much easier to blame us for supporting their governments.
