I don't think the Turks should hold their breath. Not only is the EU going to be having severe digestion pains over its recent expansion, there is a collective European memory saying 'NO!' to the Turks that I doubt will fade anytime soon. The Turks are not Europeans. Not by blood, culture, religion, language. The French and the Germans don't want them in.
