I'll talk to my son about the downloads. I'm reluctant to press him, school year is winding down and he just mentioned he may not caddy tomorrow because of some term papers.

I'll bring it up later, see if he can provide a ROM estimate of how much time it should take him.

But how? Intraday data for charts from years ago may be history at this point. You mentioned August 31 1998, I happen to have that by tick in a program I have. But if I did not, where would I be able to retrieve such data going back so far? Or use a date from 1995; where would that be found? I did not even think Yahoo had Futures data, but even SPX data may be unavailable past a couple of years.
