if government gives money to the needy that is called socialism.
if government gives money to business that is called investment.

the last 6 years can hardly be called a socialism onslaught in the U.S. there has been a massive transfer of public wealth to business & foreign government via DEBT.
now, the problem I have is, is the resulting factor of today's $29,000 public debt responsibility of each & every American citizen (& getting worst by the second).
just how irresponsible are the poor stupid unfortunate souls that go out & about trying to make a living, worrying about the tomorrows in life, even the possibility of a demise to their Social Security system because the state cannot support a transfer of funds to it's private citizens when they may need it to survive...the same citizens who paid income taxes for all of their productive years (and yes, each citizen ultimately pays the taxes of businesses when they buy products & services).
any economic model worth it's salt supports the theory of unfettered capitalism, as the most efficient use of scarce resources & controlling cost of labor, as in CHEAP.
but the fly in the ointment is that people are involved in the equation & for business & a complicit, corrupt government to extract wealth & saddle the public with the resulting debt, that is irresponsible..there is just no other take on it.
theoretically, good government supports it's people; otherwise, what recourse is there for it's citizens.
