You are absolutely right--and that level of trust/confidence develops as determines that both elements are in synch.

One of the downsides of intuitive trading is that it can be impacted by external events--conciously or otherwise. For example, if something upsets me, or I read something that influences my thinking, that intuitive element gets affected -- now you have dealt with that, perhaps without realizing it, by your "two losing trades, and you are done for the day", rule. As a systems trader, I know my stop and nothing affects it.
